I. COMPLETE THE LISTING FORM

To list your works with House of Prose, please complete the Author Listing Form (Listing form – House Of Prose). We believe quality is of utmost importance, and the work submitted will be assessed to ensure that it meets the intention of the store.

 

II. QUALITY ASSURANCE

At House of Prose, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence in the books available on our platform. To achieve this, each book undergoes a meticulous assessment process that includes:

  • Editorial Review: Our experienced team evaluates each work for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall writing quality.
  • Cover Design and Presentation: The visual appeal of the book matters. We assess cover designs, formatting, and layout to ensure that the book is aesthetically pleasing and reader-friendly.
  • Reader Feedback: We value reader feedback and incorporate it into our quality assessment. Reader reviews and ratings are considered to continually improve the quality of our offerings.
  • Inclusivity and Diversity: We promote inclusivity by actively seeking and supporting authors from diverse backgrounds and underrepresented communities.

III. PRICING & DISCOUNTS

The Author is responsible for setting the price of each product listed. The pricing needs to include the cost of shipping. We encourage you to set your price based on both desired profit margins and similar works listed. If you wish to update your listed sale price you can do so by emailing hello@houseofprose.com.au with information on new price and effective date. You will need to provide 72 hours’ notice of any price changes. If you wish to offer a discount on bulk purchases, this may be possible. Please email hello@houseofprose.com.au for options.

 

IV. STOCKHOLDINGS, SALE, AND DISTRIBUTION

House of Prose does not hold stock; stockholdings are the responsibility of the Author. House of Prose will facilitate the sale and forward the proceeds to your nominated account within 48 hours, allowing money to flow immediately. Once a sale is placed and completed, an automatic notification of the details of the sale will be forwarded to the nominated email account, ready to be fulfilled by the Author. You will be responsible for ensuring you have sufficient stockholdings to fulfil the orders, and orders must be shipped by you within 2 business days. Once shipped, the Author notifies House of Prose by emailing hello@houseofprose.com.au. We encourage you to take every opportunity to sell your works. We understand that at times opportunities may present themselves where you need to access stock reserved for sale at House of Prose. At such time, you will need to let us know by emailing us on hello@houseofprose.com.au 48 hours prior, informing us of the number of copies you need to reduce your stockholdings with. After receiving the updated stockholdings from you, we will update our system and send you a confirmation email once completed. To ensure the best level of service to our customers we ask that if the Author is planning to be unable to meet the 48-hour fulfilment period, that they notify House of Prose. This will allow us to temporarily suspend the listing for the duration of the planned absence. V. PRINT ON DEMAND WORKS

If your works are set up as a POD (Print On Demand) product with a printing house, your stockholdings will not be recorded at House of Prose, and there are no limitations to the number of copies that can be sold through the House of Prose website. If your arrangement changes with the printer, you will need to inform House of Prose ahead of time, allowing at least 48 hours’ notice for updating your information.

 

VI. REFUNDS AND RETURNS

House of Prose does not offer returns on goods sold, but we do offer a replacement product if the product has been damaged in transit. House of Prose will handle complaints and questions from customers and will arrange for replacement items to be sent out should we receive a notification and verification of product damage. In the event of damage, the Author is responsible for sending a replacement product, and House of Prose will contribute 30% of the product listing price to the Author. The author will need to pay the shipping and arrange delivery of the replacement item.

 

VII. COMMISSION 

House of Prose will retain 20% of the total sale, forwarding the remaining 80% to the Author within 48 hours of the sale.
